Starting XI

Dean Henderson Had little to do required before the break until forced to intervene from Arbër Hoxha’s curled attempt. His sliding challenge against an Albanian attacker demonstrated excellent reading of the game. 6/10

The debutant Challenged by Albania’s primary attacker in their forward. Started through the middle to begin with later drifted to the flank once Saka came on. 7

The defender Advanced forward with the ball at his feet, something he's known for previously. Sometimes seemed hesitant when carrying play with the experiment was shelved after the break. 6

Dan Burn A nuisance from dead balls, typically, but may be another option for his teammate at the back as opposed to alongside him. A careless pass later in the match almost led to the first goal from the visitors. 6

Nico O’Reilly Another composed performance from the youngster following his initial appearance against another side. Saka was unable to take the opportunity from a clever backheel over their defense. The role is firmly his at this stage. Seven

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning in an England shirt. A bit careless on the ball however his inswinging deliveries caused problems. A useful tempo-setter for the manager to utilize versus teams who drop deep. Booked for a poorly timed challenge. 6/10

The midfielder Crosses from dead balls and free kicks were dangerous. Had license to move in left midfield only to be offside when the ball arrived in front of goal. Awarded a well-earned substitution on the hour mark. Six

The star midfielder Operated in an advanced role down the right and contributed with dirty work. Showed flashes of quality but mishit a shot high. Substituted late on for a teammate, his competition, after receiving a caution. Seven

The winger Had the team's best chance before halftime, his strike well saved from the Albanian keeper. As a teammate staying deep, it fell to him to stretch the play down the right side yet his deliveries into the box varied in quality. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. Six

Harry Kane The difference-maker with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth finishes in an England shirt. His first a trademark close-range tap-in while the second a superb headed goal following a clever run away from the opposition. At 32, he continues to improve and England have every chance in future competitions with him leading the line. 8

The attacker Found it tough to make an impact out wide. Was presented with a presentable chance when set up from a teammate yet Strakosha made the save. Rashford had a greater an impact when substituted. 5/10
