The 76-year-old, from the Nottinghamshire area, pleaded guilty to a total of 17 charges when he appeared at the courthouse on the end of the week.
However, he refused to admit a single sexual charge he was accused of, which was concerning a nine-year-old child.
The defendant was kept in jail prior to a additional proceeding on 28 November.
'Treat game'
The prosecutor, handling the case, detailed the criminal behavior to the legal proceedings.
She explained his victims were disadvantaged youngsters who were attending a summer program which he managed.
The defendant engaged in a "sweet game" with the youngsters, Mrs Prior said, in which he would enter the children's bedrooms when they were getting ready for bed and request they to consume candy "as quickly as they can".
She informed the proceedings Ruben had conducted this practice with the young males "for many years", and youngsters had earlier experienced illness the following morning.
She explained Ruben had been able to explain this for many years as the children being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his family member had worries in recently.
The legal representative continued: "In the summer" his stepson had suspicions about what was going on, for good reason.
"They decided to investigate in the individual's items."
The legal counsel stated materials including baby oil, ointment and injection devices were found, and his stepson contacted the police about his worries.
She explained the man proceeded to engage in the "sweet game" with six boys that evening - July 26th - and they were everyone unwell the subsequent day.
"The police had not arrived by that time," she added.
The oversight body, the police conduct office, previously told that it was reviewing the police response of the events.
The prosecutor said the minors were having difficulty walking due to their sickness, so the family member called the authorities a second time.
She said Ruben then engaged in the "sweet game" in a space of five youngsters.
