Glenn described that Boyd, who is hospitalized, was âupbeatâ during their recent conversation. âThat gives me comfort, is that his mood is upbeat,â Glenn commented. âHis family, they are doing well and he will walk away from this just fine.â Glenn was unsure when Boyd might be released the hospital, where his condition is described as critical but stable. âStill unsure,â Glenn remarked. âYet I must mention, from our conversation, his attitude was encouraging. And again, thatâs what gives me comfort, given his positive frame of mind and heâs talking that way.â Authorities released security footage Monday of a man sought in the attack on the player. A motive for the shooting is still being looked into and authorities said it remains uncertain if Boyd was the intended victim. No other injuries were reported. The shooting happened in the early morning on Sunday in the area between the famous arena and Times Square. Boyd, 29, was transported to a local hospital after being shot in the abdomen, according to authorities. The shooter fled the scene. Glenn shared Boyd has been on his mind âa tonâ since learning of the incident. Glenn added that Boyd and his spouse just had a child. âWhat immediately crossed my mind, he just had a kid,â Glenn remarked. âAnd Iâm thinking about his wife, considering his child and I want to make sure that heâs OK. And thatâs the only thing that really went through my mind. âThere is a procedure involved, that I wonât detail, but Iâm happy at the fact that his outcome looks very positive.â Boyd hasnât played in the present campaign, his debut year with New York, after being placed on injured reserve on August 18 with a shoulder injury that involved surgical repair. Boyd came to New York as a new signing in March and was expected to be a significant contributor of an improved special teams group under the coach and ST coordinator the special teams coach. However, he got hurt during a practice session on 2 August and had to be helped off. Boyd continued to be present throughout the season while recovering from the shoulder injury. âHe remains involved with our activities,â Glenn stated. âIn fact, he attends every game. Heâs fully engaged. To be one of the top special teams players in this league, he has excelled at supporting his teammates.â Boyd, a Texas native, began his career with Minnesota after being a seventh-round pick by Minnesota out of Texas University in 2019. He signed with Arizona in 2023 and later was with the Texans later that season. Boyd agreed to a one-year deal worth $1.6m with New York in the spring.
